Carpet Installation

Before Carpet Installation

It's time to prepare for your new carpet installation!
You will need to remove all furniture, furnishings, and items on the wall, from the rooms and closets that are receiving new carpet. Since carpet requires a completely level subfloor, the current flooring will need to be removed completely and disposed of. We can help you assess pre-installation considerations such as old flooring disposal, any subfloor prep that is needed, as well as trims and moldings. Your new carpet rolls need to acclimate to the temperature and humidity in your rooms for at least 48 hours prior to installation.

During Carpet Installation

It's extremely important during carpet installation to designate an area for your carpet installers to keep installation tools and carpet rolls. You will also need to be home during your carpet installation to answer questions and deal with any issues that arise. Since your installers will be using tools such as nail guns, knee kickers, and carpet stretchers, it’s important to keep pets and kids away from the rooms receiving new carpet and the designated installer area. The shape of your room, unique dimensions of the space, and number of installers on hand will determine the length of carpet installation time.

After Carpet Installation

After the carpet installation is complete, now is the time to ask your installers any questions that you may have. Check to make sure that your doors have full range of motion with the new carpet. You can walk on your new carpet without footwear immediately following installation. However, we highly recommend that you wait at least 24 hours before returning your furniture in the room to avoid damaging or indenting the carpet appearance. Over the life of your new floors, we are your carpet stretching experts if you decide you want to restore the appearance of your soft surface!
