At The Floor Store, we often have or customers ask for tips on cleaning vinyl floors and the best products for this material.
Vinyl or resilient floors are easy to keep clean. Sweep the floor regularly to remove dirt and grit. Mop occasionally using a product approved for your floor. (We’ll help you determine the best product for your floor, based on the manufacturer’s instructions) Detergent products or those with soap are not recommended. If you are unsure of the cleaning product simple soap and water is best for cleaning vinyl floors.
Remember that these floors can be slippery when wet, so watch your step after mopping. Also, wipe up any spills quickly with a dry cloth.
Cork floors usually have a sealant finish applied during installation to help provide stain and moisture resistance. This finish may need to be reapplied over time. Some cork floors are susceptible to direct sunlight, which can cause them to fade over time.
